Community
Songs Of The Light takes audiences on a journey to explore what light means to your local community.
The evening has two main elements…
Live Music & Choirs
Over an hour of accessible music has been scored to allow singers of all abilities join in the performance.
From four part harmony choral music to contemporary community choir singing, the pieces have been written to be accessible & challenging, but above all to be as inclusive as possible.
The show has been designed in a modular way to take account of busy choir schedules & to allow participation with minimal rehearsal time.
Spectacular Films
Entwined with the music are film clips of conversations with members of the communities the project has been to.
The films follow a personal journey of exploration, expectation and discovery, sadness and loss but ultimately a journey of hope.
These real voices have inspired the creation of the performance. They also provide the perfect backdrop for audiences to reflect on their own journeys of darkness & light.
Scaling The Performance
The concert is fully scalable meaning we can perform the show in any venue size, from small galleries & halls, to larger theatres and cathedrals.
When planning an event, the size of your venue will inform us how many performers we can involve. It also tells us how many screens for film projections we will need to provide.
We usually provide either 1, 3 or 5 screens as a backdrop to the stage. The screen acts as a continuous display for a completely immersive feel. Repeater screens can also be used at larger venues to allow audiences to see from wherever they are.

The pieces have deliberately been written so that they are easy to learn. We recommend spending at least 3-4 sessions with your choirs to go through the music, but the music is really accessible and designed for choirs on tight schedules.
Light means different things to people at different stages of life. We’ve deliberately put together a storyline that can be openly interpreted by all people from all walks of life, religious or atheist.
This is one of the strengths of the show.
Yes. We either own or have access to everything needed to put on the show. We do not expect the host venue to provide any equipment at all – although there may be occasions when it is easier to use pre-installed systems (such as PA or lighting rigs).
